Help for
the Neopets Toolbar Add-on
Here you have access to the help you need.
Options: Alerts

You can access the add-on options dialog from the Firefox extension browser (Firefox 1.5: Tools >> Extensions ; Firefox 2.0: Tools >> Add-ons). Choose "Neopets Toolbar Add-on" and click on "Options".
Check for new email alert (Default: On)
Allows the add-on to trigger an alert for new emails.
Check for new neomail alert (Default: On)
Allows the add-on to trigger an alert for new neomails.
Monitor the Neopets Toolbar alert button (Default: On)
Allows the add-on to trigger an alert for blinking Neopets Toolbar alert button (Tarla alert).
Time-based dailies: Deadly Dice alert (Default: Off)
Initiate an alert for Deadly Dice game at 12am to 1am NST everyday.
Time-based dailies: Snowager alert (Default: Off)
Initiate an alert for sleeping Snowager (6am to 7am, 2pm to 3pm, and 10pm to 11pm NST).
Enable sound alert (Default: On)
This will enable an audio alert for the add-on. Please refer to the "Tips & Tricks" section for info regarding changing the audio alert.
Enable pop-up alert (Default: On)
This will enable a pop-up alert for the add-on.
Use old pop-up alert (Default: Off)
Enabling this option will force the add-on to use the old alert dialog, instead of the newly implemented iframe alert. This is implemented just in case the new alert doesn't work.
Add-on check interval (Default: 10 seconds)
This option will be slightly different depending on whether you have Neopets Toolbar active.
Neopets Toolbar active: This is the amount of time (in seconds) for the add-on to check for changes set by Neopets Toolbar. You have to restart the browser in order to update the check interval.
Neopets Toolbar inactive or not installed: This is the amount of time (in seconds) for the add-on to trigger an alert after checking the server. It's not recommended to set this setting lower than 3-5 seconds, unless you have a fast connection to Neopets server. If the Add-on constantly unable to detect new emails/neomails/Tarla alert, please increase the value.
Disable button checking on browser startup (Default: Off) (Only when Neopets Toolbar is inactive)
Enabling this option will prevent the add-on from checking whether the Tarla alert button is on any of the browser toolbars. Normally users do not need to enable this option, unless they have an alternate method for accessing the Tarla alert.
Options: Favourites (Only when Neopets Toolbar is active)

Bug alert: After editing the favourite lists, user must click on the Neopets Toolbar favourites button once in order for the changes to take effect permenently. Otherwise the Neopets Toolbar will revert back to pre-edited favourite lists after restarting the browser. Currently there isn't a suitable solution available.
Favourite Neopets Links / Frequently Visited Sites
There are two different favourite lists: "Favourite Neopets Links" is for Neopets related links, while "Frequently Visited Sites" is for external links.
Up / Down
Controls for assigning position of selected link.
Technical note: The Neopets Toolbar favourite list works in such a way that it is listed according to how many times you visited the link (either directly or through the toolbar favourite list). Most visited link will be listed at the top, while the least visited link at the bottom.
While coding the add-on 1.2.0, a bug was found within Neopets Toolbar. For some reason, a link with 100 visits is located below another link with 40 visits. As such, I had decided to use an extremely large number (10000+) to avoid the bug.
Also, since the number of visits will increase every time a user visit a link, there is a difference of 500 visits between each links to avoid accidental exchange of position.

Moveable alert buttons

There are four kinds of alert buttons which you can place at any parts of the browser toolbars (except the statusbar, tabs bar and the Neopets Toolbar itself). The neomail, email and Tarla buttons work exactly the same as the alert buttons in the Neopets Toolbar, so you can hide/collapse (NOT uninstall!) the Neopet Toolbar if you do not need to use any of the other Neopets Toolbar buttons.
As for the daily button, it serves two purposes (or three, if the user treats the random text generator as a purpose...): One, it'll alert the user whenever the snowager is asleep or Count von Roo is awake. Two, clicking on the button at the appropriate time will bring the user to the respective page.
There are a total of three status for the buttons: Gray for normal inactive condition, green (with animation) for active alert, and red for error or disabled.
If you constantly get a red alert button, please check whether you have disabled data checking at Add-on's option. Then increase the check interval. If these two doesn't help, most likely the Neopets server is down.
To place an alert button: Right click at any of the toolbars and choose "Customize...". Then just drag any or all of the alert buttons to the toolbars.
Technical note: It's normal for the alert to stay active for at most two mintues after clicking on them. This is due to the time needed for the Neopets Toolbar to initiate the next check (1 minute for webmail, 2 minutes for neomail). Alert button (Tarla alert) is not affected.

Prevent toolbar from 'sleeping' (Obsolete)
Since the Neopets Toolbar prevents changes to the timing, this option was removed from add-on 1.1.1
